The Section 100 Support Allowance Program (Fifth Community Pharmacy Agreement)
What it doesThe programme financially supports visits by pharmacists to provide a range of targeted quality use of medicines (QUM) and medication management support services to remote area Aboriginal Health Services (AHS).
Financial support is provided to the pharmacist through an annual allowance to provide the QUM services to the AHS.
The Section 100 Support Allowance Programme was implemented in 2002 under the Third Community Pharmacy Agreement and continues to operate under the Fifth Community Pharmacy Agreement.
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia provides assistance to pharmacists participating in the programme.
Note: This programme is available for remote area AHSs only.
What it achievesThe Programme aims to improve health outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients attending remote area AHS, by supporting QUM through pharmacist intervention and advice.
